I took over 400 pictures at the Greenway where my youngest daughter participated in a horse camp held by a friend.  I had so much fun snapping shots and gave each of the pictures above a title based on what immediately comes to mind, when I look at each photo.

Note:  My oldest daughter went along to help manage the crowd of five year olds!  While Ashlyn helped with the little ones, our longtime friend's fifteen year old daughter helped with the horses and lessons (she is pictured in the photo titled, 'Friends.')  I have never seen a young lady with such an incredible work ethic as Amelia!  She is so cute and bright, and I was so proud that Ashlyn and Brooke could spend some time with her for a week!  She gets up every morning at 6 am to go to these stables to clean and feed the horses...for free.  She hopes to get a job at the stables, when she is old enough.  She is articulate, bright, optimistic, and so down-to-earth!  And, she has an amazing command of her horse!  With a trail horse and a show horse, she entertained the little ones with a show of jumping obstacles and riding like a pro!  Thank you for your patience, your leadership and your friendship to my little ones!

A Lofty Space

The loft is finished in the tree house. 

My uncle gave several of these wooden plaques to my son.  I painted this one and mounted a 3-D puzzle of a deer.  It can easily be taken down to play.  The puzzle came from Books-A-Million.

I hung the small wooden oars on either side of the loft and a simple yellow lantern to hold a battery operated candle.

I have many vintage copies of old books, like Huckleberry Finn that belonged to my husband when he was young.  The Boy's Book of Survival has been our summer guide and is a great little book to have!

I hung the constellation map above the pillows for learning purposes.  We are learning a few things about the stars, as they relate to direction.

Another plaque hangs opposite the 'deer.'  I think I may get the 'moose' puzzle for this one!

Do you remember these old Eveready flashlights that could take out a person?  This one doesn't work, but the kids use it to hide secret messages.

Surprisingly, this little space stays cool in the summer with the canopy of trees.  I added the $3.99 rug from IKEA.

More on the cage light can be seen {here.}  The fishing creel holds the wires neatly out of the way.

The large fishing lure on the left was found at Hobby Lobby.  Who remembers playing with the can 'phones' as a child?  My kids use these to 'call' downstairs from the loft.

This is a collage of some of the pictures hanging on the walls.  I printed some pictures of my children, some from the computer and purchased some from Hobby Lobby, but my favorites are the kid's art!

I found these adorable free camper printables {here} and the bottom image came from bing.com.  I love the tent made from the oars!  You girls who make these free printables, you ROCK! I love these! The 'rent' sign was found at a flea market and the old red lantern is from England.

I made the 'Lake Club' sign from some willow twigs and a salvage piece of wood.  It is a spoof on the fancier Lake Club just up the road.  We are only members at this one!

We have had some odd weather here in SC lately!  A huge cedar tree came down during one of the storms at my in-laws, so a huge batch of firewood came home with us.  I sanded a few stumps to use as side tables or stools around the campfire...perfect for this tree house.

With all the crazy weather (and many trees blown over) Rob has been prayin' that these two trees wouldn't come down!  Yes, it would be a very sad day for all of us!

I hope you are having a great summer!  The days are ticking away too fast!  What happened to the days of listening to the crickets on a lazy hot summer night, where you sip a glass of lemonade while watching down the street for your neighbors to come visit?  I long for the clock, or really our pace to slow down!

Or maybe I have been watching too much of the Walton's!
