I finally made this bunting! Last night, my daughter and I sewed this together...me taking a stab at sewing and her watching and pushing the foot pedal! I had big plans to have this done for a birthday party for my youngest daughter who turns five this week! The bunting is done, but I haven't even planned the party!
I have saved all the dresses with pretty fabric that both my daughters have worn. I have big dreams of making (having made!) a quilt for each one of my girls.
I used this fabric stiffener in the hopes that it would keep the delicate fabrics from fraying. It does cause the fabric to shrivel up a bit, but the look adds to the vintage style.
I look at each of these cuts of fabric and can remember when my girls were little and wore these dresses with the lovely prints. I also added some vintage prints from the Warm Biscuit Bedding Company. I absolutely adore their fabrics! Check out their line of vintage fabrics and you will find the strawberry toile and the little ducky print.
I will probably hang this in my shed, but on this lovely day, it hangs over our swing!
A trip to IKEA made me come home with this enamel pitcher! Under $5 and so adorable! I bought more for gifts! The pretty flowers of spring...does it get any better than that?
Thanks for stopping by!

Love the fabric bunting, it looks perfectly vintage in the yard! Also love that lil blue pitcher I picked one up for myself a few months ago and wish I got more for gifts as well.
It is so sweet that you used fabric from your girls dresses to make the bunting! I'm your newest follower.
Wow, this is lovely. Hope to see you at My Dream Canvas!
Your banner is very sweet and I bought the same pitcher at my very first IKEA trip in white. ♥O
Christie, I just found your blog over at Cottage Flora Thursday and even though your banner was so awesome it was the words on your profile that touched my heart. Home should be all that you wrote and then some...beuatiful! I'm now joining the hundreds of others that have found your beautiful Three Pixie Lane...
Christie, that is such a sweet idea - making bunting from your girls' dresses. I love reusing things that have sentimental charm. I've made a number of things over the years, reusing family bits and pieces - like my granddaughter's first Christmas stocking. You can see it here: http://thebrambleberrycottage.blogspot.com/2010/02/fourteen-days-of-love-day-6-ohyoure-so.html
I'm so happy to have you link to my party again. I've really missed seeing you!
Hugs,

So lovely! I'd love to just sit there and relax!!
Love the bunting and what a wonderful place to sit outside. Great pitcher. I need to go to Ikea. Love how you style your photos. Thanks for joining WUW.
LOVE the fabric! so cute! Another great product I use is Fray Check. You can get it at any fabric store in the notions dept. It really works and it doesn't shrink the fabric. It dries clear too. The pinked edges should keep the fabric from fraying anyway, but if you were worried about preservation, then an anti fray product also helps. Hope they birthday party went well! Love the swing :)
