I packed this lunch box on the day that I was going to meet my daughter for lunch. One tea cup for her, one tea cup for me! That was our favorite thing to do...tea parties...before kindergarten. My baby, she loved this! I packed one tea cup in her box and brought the other one with me.
She is not a 'good eater.' I am trying to find ways to make healthy food appealing to her. My friend, Jen gave me a huge container of cherry tomatoes from her garden and some cucumbers. These made the 'eyes' and the 'smile' for her sandwich. The 'hair and the side of beans are dried or baked vegetables. I also added cucumber slices and some fresh raspberries to her lunch box. Usually, I give her a yogurt, but on this day I added the tiny little pie.
I found the Cath Kidston napkins at Tuesday Morning!

That is THE CUTEST little lunch box and lunch I've ever seen! Look up the cookbook "Deceptively Delicious". They have lots of good ideas of how to disguise healthy food in yummy, nutritious ways for kids. :) Good luck!

I used to make food faces, too to get my daughter to eat...it worked. My funniest memory was of the time I went to a friend's retirement party and they had a ton of food left over and everyone was being encouraged to take a plate home. I took home a party-sized chicken salad sandwich, cheese cubes, strawberries, toasted pecans, broccoli, celery, cherry tomatoes with dip and one cookie. When my daughter asked what we were having for supper, I told her she wasn't having supper...she was going to have refreshments. She looked very surprised but happy when I put that little party plate down with a cute napkin--she gobbled up every bite!!! Note to self: cut food up in small pieces and serve with a cute napkin....

Oh my! I wish someone would pack me a gorg and yummy lunch like this. I too have a picky eater. I find that he likes to pick out things at the grocery store and farmer's market, then he's much more likely to eat it at home.
What an adorable tin lunch and dress! If that doesn't entice her to eat lunch I don't know what will :-)

I just found your beautiful blog. What a clever idea using the picnic basket to encourage your little one to eat. I have a picky grandson and have started letting him pick out a cookie cutter from my collection for his sandwich and he seems to eat it better than the regular rectangle cut.
