Valentine's Party

Last year, I had a Valentine's Tea Party for my girls and our friends.
My oldest daughter helped with the decorations and food.

These were the old love letters from my Grandpa to my Grandma during WWII.  They seemed appropriate as decoration for this Valentine's Day Party.
My friend who had hosted a party for her daughter for many years suggested that I let my daughters pick some of their favorite foods!  After all, the party is for them!  Pretzels and cheese puffs made the list!
The little tables are set for the little girls...
Their table is set with tea sets from IKEA.  The ribbon roses were made by my oldest daughter to decorate their table.  To make these simple rosettes, take a 12 to 18 inch wire ribbon.  Pull the wire of one side of the ribbon until the ribbon bunches.  Wrap the loose wire around a pencil or small stick and form a rose.
I always look forward to Valentine's Day right after Christmas!  I keep some of the 'red' decorations out from Christmas and just add some fun Valentine's decor.  I change the decorations out as soon as I take down Christmas.  It seems to make for an easier transition!

    Just curious the small green coffee or maybe dematassie cups (on one of the kids tables)...are those from the Greenbriar by chance?

    I think Valentine's Day is such a fun day. How sweet your tables look and the girls are darling. Your table settings are always lovely and the attention to detail is perfect. You have quite a knack with this! How special to have that bundle of love letters from your Grandpa to your Grandma. What a wonderful treasure! I still enjoy sending Valentine's out to all of my friends. I've done it since I was a kid!

    Amanda, the small green tea cups came in a set from IKEA...four different colors of blue, yellow, green and pink. I purchased several sets and you are seeing two of the green ones! If you don't have an IKEA close by, you can probably order online...they were inexpensive! LOVE IKEA!

    I love seeing pics of young girls enjoying tea parties! I used to put them on for my daughter many years ago. Your Valentine decorations and tablescape look wonderful - love the menu too! Good idea to go straight from Christmas to V's day...especially since I still have my Christmas decorations up!

    What a sweet idea. I lost all my hubby's love letters from the Coast Guard days when we had a nor'easter in Cape May, NJ 1974 or '75. The party looks like a lot of fun.

    This is a darling idea, and I'd love to do this for my goddaughter. That was so clever to use the love letters as part of the vignette. I also like the fact that you let them select some of their favorite foods since the party is, indeed, about them. Just goes to show you that even cheese puffs and pretzels can look good when you have a beautiful table, and this one is that. Good job!

    Oh how charming and cute. A tea party is always a wonderful idea, even with pretzel and cheese puffs :) My daughter received a cake Cricut for Christmas, I am thinking of a good Valentine's idea.
