Last year, I had a Valentine's Tea Party for my girls and our friends.
My oldest daughter helped with the decorations and food.
These were the old love letters from my Grandpa to my Grandma during WWII. They seemed appropriate as decoration for this Valentine's Day Party.
My friend who had hosted a party for her daughter for many years suggested that I let my daughters pick some of their favorite foods! After all, the party is for them! Pretzels and cheese puffs made the list!
The little tables are set for the little girls...
Their table is set with tea sets from IKEA. The ribbon roses were made by my oldest daughter to decorate their table. To make these simple rosettes, take a 12 to 18 inch wire ribbon. Pull the wire of one side of the ribbon until the ribbon bunches. Wrap the loose wire around a pencil or small stick and form a rose.
I always look forward to Valentine's Day right after Christmas! I keep some of the 'red' decorations out from Christmas and just add some fun Valentine's decor. I change the decorations out as soon as I take down Christmas. It seems to make for an easier transition!
Happy Valentine's to you...it's only a month away!
I am joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday!
I am linking to these fun parties, too!
Note: The better quality pictures were taken by my friend Monica. Thanks!

Just curious the small green coffee or maybe dematassie cups (on one of the kids tables)...are those from the Greenbriar by chance?
ReplyDeleteHi Christie,
ReplyDeleteYour tables are so sweet, and even sweeter are the smiles on the girls' faces as they sit at the table. What beautiful memories you are making for your family. Thank you for sharing, and you may see a variation of this at my house in a few weeks for 4 "grand" children!
Have a great day!
Sue
Wow, talk about thinking ahead or looking back! It sure looks like the young ones had a splendid party thanks to your creative effort.
ReplyDeleteI think Valentine's Day is such a fun day. How sweet your tables look and the girls are darling. Your table settings are always lovely and the attention to detail is perfect. You have quite a knack with this! How special to have that bundle of love letters from your Grandpa to your Grandma. What a wonderful treasure! I still enjoy sending Valentine's out to all of my friends. I've done it since I was a kid!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable table with adorable girls, who looked, by the way very happy to be at such a fun table. Love the ribbon flower centerpiece. Joni
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable!!! I bet the girls had a blast!! Everything looks great!!!! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteYou get so many Mommy Points for this! I love the whole concept and every detail. By far, my favorite part is the inclusion of love letters from your grandfather. That's just priceless.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like fun! I may have to steal this idea for my girls! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so perfectly timely Christie! I was just thinking yesterday about how I would love to host a little Valentine's party for my own sweet girl and her cutie pie friends! Now I've got tons of inspiration to pull from! :-)

Amanda, the small green tea cups came in a set from IKEA...four different colors of blue, yellow, green and pink. I purchased several sets and you are seeing two of the green ones! If you don't have an IKEA close by, you can probably order online...they were inexpensive! LOVE IKEA!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so cute and like so much fun! Look at all those adorable little girls. I'll bet they will always remember this :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable! The girls too! Fun idea! ♥
ReplyDeleteThis is so charming! I love the paper doilies under the clear glass plates. Looks like so much fun for those lucky little girls!

What a pretty table & wonderful little get together! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing pics of young girls enjoying tea parties! I used to put them on for my daughter many years ago. Your Valentine decorations and tablescape look wonderful - love the menu too! Good idea to go straight from Christmas to V's day...especially since I still have my Christmas decorations up!

What a darling tea party -- I love everything about it -- it is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteSo cute, makes me want to have a grown up tea party.
ReplyDeleteDarling! What sweet little girls. I love the old letters!
ReplyDeleteI have a home daycare and this is a fabulous idea to have with the kids. Thank you for sharing and for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Visiting from Fireflies & Jellybeans "Show Off Your Stuff" link party!
ReplyDeleteYou are making wonderful memories for lots of little girls. Sweet tables. Especially love the love letters tied up with a ribbon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet idea. I lost all my hubby's love letters from the Coast Guard days when we had a nor'easter in Cape May, NJ 1974 or '75. The party looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteThis is a darling idea, and I'd love to do this for my goddaughter. That was so clever to use the love letters as part of the vignette. I also like the fact that you let them select some of their favorite foods since the party is, indeed, about them. Just goes to show you that even cheese puffs and pretzels can look good when you have a beautiful table, and this one is that. Good job!
ReplyDeleteHappy Tablescape Thursday to you...
XO,
Sheila
Oh! Love this post, so charming! And I love that you put your grandparents letters out - I have some from mine, to each other while my grandfather was in WW1 also. So very dear.
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT,
Sally

Your party makes my heart sing! Not only are you providing a beautiful party for all these precious little girls, you are educating them at the perfect age about the joys of gracious entertaining. The looks on their faces tell the whole story. I predict that they will grow up and continue this very special tradition of creating beautiful tablescapes and offering delicious foods to be shared in special fellowship with treasured friends. Thank you for sharing your/their lovely design. Please, let them know what a wonderful job they did. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such fun. It's been a long while since I've had a "tea party" with my daughter. But, now I have a granddaughter to have them with!!! ;)

You definitely got me all inspired my friend! I'm just coming back by to say thanks for linking this up to the party and I cannot wait to see the upcoming posts! :-) I also wanted you to know, again, how very grateful I am to you for mentioning Jesus Calling to me...I have been loving it and find myself having a hard time just reading the one for that day and not the entire book all at once! There was one that made me think of you (in a good way of course!) and I'll have to find it again and email you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a blessing to me!
Vanessa
P.S. Have you ever thought about going to Blissdom?
Such a grand party and how blessed you are to have those letters :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
