Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupery
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. ~ Galatians 5:22-23
It is only by looking in the same direction as the cross, that Rob and I even have a chance at marriage! It is by looking at that cross that the Lord fills our hearts with the fruit of the Spirit. When we take our gaze off of Him, we look to ourselves or to each other and that is when we start to crumble!
I will never pretend that marriage isn't a journey with its fair share of bumps and sometimes boulders, but I am thankful for Rob, who faithfully fixes his eyes on a cross and our Savior.
Today we have been married eighteen years!
Marriage tip: Typically, it takes between 9-14 years for a married couple to switch from 'me' to 'we.' Too often we give up before the shift takes place. ~Mark Driscoll
Blessings to all of you!
Beautifully said and so very true. Happy Anniversary to you both. God bless you with many more wonderful years together. Blessings, Pamela

Happy Day to you and your husband. Just celebrated our 21st a couple of weeks ago. Our marriage has to have Christ at the center or it would not work. God bless your family.

Happy Anniversary! I couldn't agree more with the 9-14 years statistic. It took my husband and me YEARS to get past "me's" and still struggle with it sometimes! :) Keeping your eyes on the cross can and will make all the difference!
