What a little dream cabin!  I made this last year with my son, who loves to build.  I kept the house in a garbage bag and stored it in a dry, cool place.  I was amazed that it still looked as good this year!  We placed it on the tray and added the snow and the details.  Rice cereal is a great snow for these kinds of projects, too!  It actually looks like snowflakes!  Since everything doesn't have to be edible for our gingerbread house, we sprinkled the snow with a little glitter, added the ornament car and evergreen candle from Pier 1 and stuck a little 'tree' on the side that had lost all its leaves.  I just want to curl right up in there by the fire!

Shingles: Life Cereal

Rocks: Cinnamon and Sugar Covered Pecans from Target

Cobblestone pathway: Triscuits

Fence: Pretzels

Door: Graham Cracker

Wreath: real Evergreen made into a wreath

Doorknob: The one candy we used that came in the package!

Snowman: Icing with added sugar and glitter to roll into balls

Eyes: Two little chocolate nonpareils

Nose: the tip of a toothpick painted orange with a permanent marker

Snow: bag from Hobby Lobby

All other parts came from a kit...icing, sides of house, etc.
