A Guest Retreat

A little tray of things awaits my guest. A pretty towel was folded to hold a few midnight snacks and another to hold an extra toothbrush and toothpaste. I filled the pitcher with some ice water just before bedtime and left a candle, as well as, a copy of Victoria magazine...a favorite!
My son's bedroom was converted from all of his boyish things to make a cozy retreat for my sister and her family! I pulled some linens and pillows from other rooms and added some flowers and extra touches to make them feel welcome!
These bright flowers from the Farmer's Market are perfect in this dark room. We added the room to an unfinished area in our basement when our son was born, so he could have a space of his own.
Extra pillows are set out for additional comfort.
The oars were found at the Tobacco Barn in Asheville, NC. It is a huge antique market located in, none other than an old tobacco barn. It is a must visit if you are going to Asheville!
Extra blankets are displayed, in case someone gets chilled in the night.  My uncle made the quilt rack as a wedding gift.  I collect quilts...old; new...they are all wonderful and exude such comfort!  The red and white one was a gift from my sister purchased at Pottery Barn.  The quilt on the bed is from TJMaxx.
The whale offers a friendly greeting to my guest.  He was purchased from an artist at the July 4th open market in Southport, NC.

Well, now that our guest have returned home, the legos and trains will return to their home and this room will once again scream, 'little boy!'

Please join me!
