The Dish

The dish...

I have had a recent obsession with soap dishes.  Desiring to use some natural elements in our bathroom, I found the dropped moose antler at the Tobacco Barn in Asheville, NC.  It is small and the perfect size for holding soap.

The antler curves perfectly with the sink.

This small soap dish is made of olive wood and sits on the ledge of my tub.
Another natural 'dish' is a large seashell.  Can anything be handmade that is more beautiful?  The loveliness of nature...

The enamel dish looks very farmhouse-ish and holds extra bars of soap.

I like the dullness of soapstone.  This black soapstone dish holds French-milled soap from World Market, which smells so good!

This is an old ceramic dish, likely attached to the wall in an old farmhouse.

The basket 'dish' is not old, but I really like the design.  The Clean & Simple oatmeal soap also came from World Market.

I found this small 'dough bowl' and decided it would be perfect as a soap dish.  The organic, grayish-blue soap came from Earth Fare.
An apothecary jar is a great way to store extra bars of soap.

Anything 'pewter' is a favorite.  Fill a pewter bowl with fresh scented soaps to make the space smell so good.

The soap dish obsession occurred while remodeling our master bath.  While it was completed in the spring, our hot water heater burst in the attic necessitating repairs to the newly renovated space!  Such is life!  I hope to share it with you soon, once the ladder is gone and the touch up paint is finished!

While I am sloooooooooow in getting the process going, I have opened my etsy shop, 'The Pixie Picker.'  However, I haven't listed anything yet!  I am working on it and still need to create a banner...stay tuned!

Many of these items will be listed!

Thank you for stopping by!
