The cupboards are bare, but it is coming together...
What a difference from before! It will take me some time to add more touches to make it feel like home again!
Two wing back chairs flank either side of the room and were a gift for Mother's Day.
Now, I just need to learn to cook!
As of two days ago, we have a functioning kitchen! The water was turned back on and the refrigerator is now cold! I am washing dishes and restocking the cabinets today. When you don't have your kitchen, you realize how much it is the center of your home! What a great Mother's Day present to be (almost) finished!
Here are a few shots of the mostly finished space. This has consumed my life for the past several months. If you are considering a kitchen remodel, or really any remodel in your home, come back and see what lessons I have learned. I will start posting again soon!
Thank you!
Happy 40th Birthday Heather 'At the Picket Fence!'
Wow! Christie! Everything looks great. Can't wait for the big reveal
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie. I love everything you post on this blog ever. So excited to see what you have coming up!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful, can't wait to hear more about the colors your chose.
ReplyDeleteHi Christie! Your new kitchen is so beautiful. I love the long dining table. We totally gutted our kitchen just a year ago and thankfully, it was only 3 weeks of work. Mind you, it's a very small kitchen, but we installed all new cabinets, sink and heated flooring. The last purchase we made was a dishwasher (my first!) and the over the range microwave in August. During the reno our contractor set up our old sink in a temporary counter for a week until they were ready for the new cabinets. After that I did dishes in the set tub downstairs. It is quite a big job but so worth it. I know with young children you must have been very inconvenienced but you will enjoy this reno for years to come. Blessings, Pamela

Oh I am in love with your kitchen! We are rennovating my inlaws 1978 home that has never had a single update in it's years. It was recently given to us with very little left on the note. I daydream daily about the kitchen reno. It's the most exciting part of the entire house to me. Are those windows original size to the home or did you make them bigger? I love how they are nearly floor to ceiling!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Loving the sink already! Enjoy the gorgeous week ahead, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteWow is mild as to how I feel about this kitchen!!! I love the lanterns over your table! It is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! You're here! We've missed you! So glad to see you are "back" and thank you so much for the sweet birthday wishes...made my day to see them!

Pleeease tell me the source of your wing chair. So beautiful!!
ReplyDeletePleeeeease share the source of your wingback chairs--so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThe wingback chairs came from Hancock and Moore. I purchased them at a shop in Charlotte, NC. The fabric is Cooper Natural. I am glad you like them! They are one of my favorite things in the entire room!
ReplyDeleteThe windows are original to the house. The house is about 15 years old. I love having them open with no window treatments, but the light is so bright it will fade everything! Maybe shutters?
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely! Well done! I really love everything!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to all the details.
Oh, my goodness! What a kitchen!! You must be thrilled and excited to live and share your new space. I can't wait to see more pictures. Knowing you, you'll take that gorgeous kitchen and turn it into the ultimate welcoming space full of love and family! You're an inspiration. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Leslie
