We picked up our new puppy on Sunday...
He is six weeks old.
He is the perfect Valentine's Gift!
We are all crazy in love with him.
He is a spirited little guy.
We named him Drayton after his dad, Drae.
Exhausted...and so am I!
Crazy is more like it. The first two nights I was up every two hours taking him out to potty. During the day, I took him outside every hour on the hour to teach him to go potty in the pine straw. He sleeps in a crate at night. I feel like I have an infant again, but his little routine is working, and he has learned so quickly! I can't wait for the weekend, so the rest of the family can take the night shift, and I can get some sleep!
Happy Valentine's Day to all of you with much love from Three Pixie Lane!
Sincerely,
P.S. The house projects are coming along. We have purchased some of our appliances and are finalizing the drawings for the new kitchen. I feel like my head is going to spin right off my neck, but I am excited to get the project complete!
I remember how exhausted I was when I brought Bailey home. Such a cutie you have there.
ReplyDeleteOh he is so cute. I REMEMBER THOSE DAYS.We have a chocolate lab and they are great with kids and they are fast learners.
ReplyDeleteOh my word, do I remember those first few months with our puppy. Thankfully it goes by quickly, but the first 3 months were miserable and had me second guessing this whole puppy thing. Good luck!
ReplyDeletesooo beautiful! i miss our labs. enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, he is just adorable! But, dealing with a puppy...that takes a lot of energy. I guess that they are like babies -- good thing that they are cute :)
ReplyDeleteadorable......i am thinking i am following blogs to see others adorable pets and not there projects!!!
ReplyDeleteHe's adorable! What a great Valentine's gift.
ReplyDeleteOh he is precious...and I KNOW how much work a puppy is!! Try to get some rest...well, you will in about 6 months!!
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable,
ReplyDeleteour cat has just had 5 kittens this morning!
Oh Puppy Love --- just the best! Nothing like a little fur ball and puppy breath.
ReplyDeleteOh Christie !!!!!!...puppy love......xxx....Happy Valentine's day....♥.. ♥... ♥....Love Ria......♥.. ♥... ♥....
ReplyDeleteI could snuggle right up with him! So adorable! I remember how exhausting it was, but labs are fast learners, so he should be sleeping through the night in no time. My only word of advice is to get him into a puppy class soon! He is not too young. It is so worth it! Enjoy! You'll have lots to blog about!
ReplyDeletewhat a cutie! My girls want us to get a new puppy right now, even though I'm due to have a baby in a few weeks. I tried to explain that it may not be the best timing =) Enjoy your new bundle!
ReplyDeleteLoved this post. We got two pups from the pound and the older pup is about to turn one.
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of work, they are. So worth it.
Thanks for sharing.
What a cutie! I totally understand what you are going through! We just got a golden retriever puppy last week and I am beyond exhausted! Stop by and read some of my recent posts about her! We can compare notes on housebreaking!

He's a cutie. Those potty breaks thru the night can be tough but the rewards are great. He'll make a great member of the family !

He is so sweet! Very lil though I am surprised they let him go at such a young age.We had a chocolate lab for 13 years almost then she got sick.It is like having a new baby in the house for sure.Get some rest and enjoy~Cheers Kim
ReplyDeleteYep. Just like having another baby in the house! Good news is, if he catches on quickly, the night torture only lasts a couple of weeks!
ReplyDeleteHe has a beautiful face! Ooohhh, I just want to sqeeze him! Precious!

Ahhhhh, what a sweet little guy. Your family will have so much fun! Wished you could hear the reactions of my co-workers while we're looking at little Drayton. We all want to hug him too.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I remember our black lab was quite a handful as a puppy, but she quickly became the sweetest, most lovable dog ever! Crate training is the way to go:) What a perfect V-day gift...a puppy that loves and adores you unconditionally:)
ReplyDeleteAwww - he is just too cute for words! It's the funniest thing - I immediately imagined that sweet puppy smell that I seem to especially associate with yellow lab puppies. I don't envy you the potty training routine though. Glad he seems to be a quick learner!
ReplyDeleteScrumptious!!!
ReplyDeleteplease feel free to call me whenever you need a sitter!!! He is a love.
ReplyDeletekrásný, nádherný, přinese Vám mnoho radostí a lásky do Vaší rodiny.
Scratch that little cutie behind the ears for me, congrats on your new fur baby. Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGREAT post! And your new puppy is adorable!! I recently did a post on my best Valentine's Day present EVER - a precious little puppy named Clarabel! She completely stole my heart. Would love it if you would stop by some time :-)

He is adorable!! I can sure relate to getting up every two hours for potty breaks. When we first got Jack, it was the same way. He is now 5 months old and can finally spend the whole night out of the crate. Now he jumps up on our bed and there he stays...haha!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy him...he is such a cutie!

Kathleen
