On this Mother's Day, my prayers are for my daughters. I pray that they will understand what an incredible gift it is to be a mother. I hope they will seek to learn as much as they can, so that they can teach their own children. I pray for these girls to have discerning hearts full of compassion and grace. Although not always an easy job, it is an incredible privilege to be called 'mom.' While it is not a career with much affirmation or bonuses, watching your children grow and mature is the greatest reward any mom could have.
I have learned that I am most effective in the lives of my children, when I am on my knees praying for them. I pray they will not miss how very much they need the Lord's guidance and His Word to raise their own babies. I cannot be two steps ahead of them always, but it is certain...
the Lord can and my prayers can.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you!
Thank you Ashlyn, Mason, and Brooke Owen for making every day 'Mother's Day.' I do not take this awesome blessing lightly!
I write this in memory of my lovely and gracious mom who's role as mother, wife, nurse, teacher and friend was finished in 1997. I love you!

ReplyDeleteAnd I am sure you had a WONDERFUL Mother. I know that by seeing who you are! You are a very very special woman! I am grateful to know you!
Blessings and love,

This was just beautiful my friend! I have to tell you that I really look up to you as a fellow "mommy" friend. It is so obvious that you deeply love and cherish your kiddos and that you commit their ways to the Lord (and your way too!). I thought of you (is that weird?LOL!) at church as our pastor talked about how complicated Mother's Day can be for so many people. Those who have lost their mothers...those who have difficult relationships with mothers...or those (like me) who spent many mother's days longing to be a mother! You are honoring your mother's legacy every day by being the wonderful mom you are to your own kiddos. And I feel blessed to have you share your heart with us!

Hi Christy.. thank U so much for taking so much time to post such encouraging & refreshing information that's truly ever been on the web. I have to ask U. Where did U acquire such knowledge & ingenuity? Most of all when did U really start to grow and mature as U have in Ur daily walk w/the Lord.
ReplyDeleteAND how in the world do U find the time to get it all done. I have one child & am a SAHM (would love to have more kiddos) but my mind is so consumed with the needs of my 3yr old daughter who has had 9 seizures & we haven't been able to find out why (& I don't have anyone that we really trust to babysit).. Anyway, I'm just very curious about Ur personal testimony & then also how U get so much done creatively & manage to be an amazing wife & mother too.. sharonherby@hotmail.com
