Doesn't yellow just make you happy? I enlisted help from the children to make the decorations for my daughter's fourth birthday. Ashlyn drew and cut out the daises and Brooke Owen colored the leaves green and the centers yellow. They both glued toothpicks onto the backs of the flowers, so we could stick them into the brownies. Brooke Owen painted large dots onto brown paper, and I cut the 'Lemonade' label out of this paper. The party favors are bubbles from Target ($1 each.) The labels were printed off the computer using a 'bee' from clipart and glued on. Yellow parasols from Hobby Lobby were used on tables to offer some shade. The drinks were root beer, mellow yellow or lemonade and were chosen because of their yellow packaging! The bumble bees on top of the cupcakes came from Williams-Sonoma. I am not much of a baker, so these made my cupcakes look so pretty! The flower cupcakes are made in silicon cupcake holders from World Market and the 'grass' is edible candy found in the Easter basket section. A lady here in my town made the flowers from white chocolate to stick in the 'pots.' Yellow foods included M&M's, yellow cheese puffs, yellow popcorn, bananas, pineapple and flower cookies from the grocery store. The daises and lemons just add some extra touches of yellow! The bumble bee picnic basket was found at Marshall's and was our gift to our daughter. We love to picnic in this family! See 'One Step at a Time' for more party pictures.
